Parking in Belgrade

Information about parking in Belgrade will be of great importance if you come by car to visit Belgrade.

In wider center of the city exists a functional zonal parking system with time limitations. Parking spots in the center are divided into 3 zones:

1. - red		Send an SMS containing license plate (with all plate numbers and symbols) without space to 9111 or buy corresponding parking ticket at nearest newsstand.
2. - yelow		Send an SMS containing license plate (with all plate numbers and symbols) without space to 9112 or buy corresponding parking ticket at nearest newsstand.
3. - green		Send an SMS containing license plate (with all plate numbers and symbols) without space to 9113 or buy corresponding parking ticket at nearest newsstand.

How long can I stay in a certain zone?

In zone 1 you can park your vehicle for a 1 hour, in zone 2 for 2 (two) hours and in zone 3 for 3 (three) hours.

How do I pay for parking?

Parking can be paid in one of the two following ways:

• By sending an SMS with your license plate mark (example for BG-458-KA you will send with no dashes BG458KA) to numbers: 9111 for zone 1, 9112 for zone 2, 9113 for zone 3. You will receive a message confirming successful payment and expiration time of your parking. If you intend to stay for 2 hours, send 2 messages. Pay notice that in zone 1 you for example you cannot stay longer than 1 hour. 

The other way is to purchase a ticket at newsstand. On that ticket you write time of arrival an you place the ticket on a visible place on the inner side of your windshield of your vehicle. When you purchase your ticket you need to emphasize the parking zone in which you intend to park your vehicle and for how long you plan to stay parked in that zone. If you have already parked your vehicle and you wonder if you are going to pay fine if the controller arrives while you are buying your parking ticket - don’t worry, you have 15 minutes extra parking, meaning that the controller must confirm twice within 15 minutes that you haven’t paid your parking in order to write you a fine.

How to recognize zonal parking system?

At the beginning of parking place with zones, you will see one of the three signs from the picture below:

Besides of this way of signalization, at the very parking place you will notice that it is bordered with some color other that white. It implies that it is within zonal parking system, and based on the color, you can determine in which zone you are in, and therefore, on which number you should send an SMS
